The careers education and guidance programme at Outwood Academy City seeks to positively support you to acquire the educational, social and employability skills necessary for lifelong success in a diverse and changing world of work.
We are currently working with two providers:
HeppSY+ is part of a national programme funded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE) to support young people most at risk of missing out on higher education. They work with year 9 – year 11 students who live in designated wards in the area where participation in Higher Education is lower than would be expected based on GCSE result.
Careers Inc is an external, independent and impartial careers guidance service who will support you to aim high in your career goals and aspirations.

Our advisors this year are Rebecca Vickers and Paula Thompson. They are available in the academy on Mondays and Fridays.
Enrichment sessions are 2:30-3:30pm on a Monday and Friday where students can go along and get support and guidance for career prospects, completing UCAS applications and CVs, and finding courses and apprenticeships.
In July 2016, Outwood Academy City achieved the Prospects Quality Award for Careers Education and Guidance recognising the strengths within the Careers Education and Guidance students at the academy receive.
